Presenting authentically badly \u2013 please don’t!<\/h1>\n

Many speakers hear the criticism: “That doesn’t seem authentic.”<\/p>\n

This phrase often comes up precisely when someone tries something new in a presentation \u2013 for example, a different gesture, a clearer structure, or more storytelling.<\/p>\n

The problem is usually not the method, but the lack of practice: as long as the new skill hasn’t become second nature, it feels unfamiliar to the speaker and appears insecure to the audience. Those who persevere will eventually reach the point where the new technique is familiar \u2013 and thus genuinely authentic.<\/p>\n

In this video, you’ll learn why you shouldn’t take the criticism of “lack of authenticity” to heart, but rather consistently practice until your new tools come across as natural and confident. Because one thing is certain: anyone who, out of fear of novelty, doesn’t dare to improve their presentation, presents authentically \u2013 but authentically badly.<\/p>\n
