On May 25, 2025, the Online Rhetoric European Championship (District 109) took place – with participants from 16 countries. In an exciting competition, Thomas Skipwith secured 1st place in the Impromptu Speech discipline, thereby winning the title of European Champion.
What is an Impromptu Speech?
In an impromptu speech, all participants receive the same question or task, which they learn only at the moment of their performance. After that, they have only a few seconds to deliver a structured, convincing, and spontaneous speech – rhetorical improvisation at its highest level.
